Examples of Program Location Descriptions
Here are some examples of location descriptions from other Wonderschool directors. Use these as inspiration!
"Paloma's Nest Preschool is based in a detached single family home in the Marina district of San Francisco. Our typical "Marina style" home has been renovated and modernized to maximize light and space while maintaining much of its original charm and warmth. Paloma's Nest utilizes the entire ground floor for joyful exploration. We have a large two-level playroom, a quiet nap room, efficient kitchenette, and bathroom.
Rain or shine, we love fresh air and getting outside. We have a deep yard and garden right outside our back door. In fact one of our favorite features is our back door - a glass door of accordion panels. In beautiful weather we can open up the back wall entirely and welcome the beauty of the outdoors in!
All of the children, even the very youngest, have easy access to the back yard (aka "outdoor classroom") everyday - rain or shine! Nestled between the lush Presidio and Crissy Field Beach, Paloma's Nest is perfectly situated near so many of San Francisco's natural treasures and the friendly businesses of Chestnut Street. Older children venture out at least once a week to explore the beauty and community of our neighborhood."
"Little Artisans Schoolhouse is located in a single family home in the historic neighborhood of North Alhambra bordering South Pasadena. Children are offered a multitude of materials to work and play with. Our lovely garden and backyard is designed for children to connect with nature so that they can enjoy all its offerings. The common room is the focal point for reading, writing, conversation, music and rest. The backyard is filled with a variety of inter-active and creative areas for children to have fun while they learn. Organic foods and healthy living are extremely important to all of us here at Little Artisans Schoolhouse."
"Little Robles is located in a beautiful 1939 single family home in the quiet neighborhood of the Outer Sunset. The school occupies two large rooms with plenty of sunlight and bright cheery walls. There are plenty of activity areas for children to explore and learn such as: a sensory exploration center, a dramatic play area to unleash children's imagination, a quiet, cozy reading area, and a fun area to encourage children's natural ability to build and explore shapes and textures. The school has been thoughtfully laid out and decorated to provide a safe, peaceful setting with plenty of toys, books, crayons, blocks, and other inspiring invitations to explore. Each child is provided with his/her own comfortable cot for nap time. Little Robles students will enjoy supervised play time in the beautifully renovated Sunset Recreation Center located across from the school.
San Francisco offers rich cultural and natural environments for our children to explore. At Little Robles, we will take advantage of everything San Francisco has to offer through field trips and participation in community events. We believe in the importance of nurturing responsible, compassionate citizens and that effort should start at a young age. Cultural diversity and social justice are woven into everything we do at Little Robles."
