How to Create and Edit Your Parent Handbook

In the Wonderschool platform, you have the ability to keep a digital copy of your handbook for new families to digitally sign when they are enrolling in your program through Wonderschool. When you view your handbook for the first time, there will be suggested, standard child care policies already there. You can personalize your Wonderschool handbook to best fit your program by take the following steps:
- Log into your Wonderschool account.
- Click on Program Dashboard in the top right corner.
- Click on your profile photo in the top right corner and select "Account".
- Click on School Info.
- Click on Edit Handbook under Parent Handbook.

A pop up will appear that states parents will receive a new version of your Parent Handbook after you save any edits. We'll also ask you to summarize your changes when you save the handbook to help parents quickly understand any important updates.

There are a few different ways you can edit your handbook:
A) You can keep the Wonderschool template policies in the handbook and personalize it to fit your program
- You will see text that appears as "SCHOOL_NAME" or "NUMBER_OF_DAYS", etc. This indicates that you should delete the capitalized text and replace it with your program's name or specific policy information. ("Tess' Daycare", "14 days", etc.)
B) You can delete the entire Wonderschool template in the handbook and copy and paste your own policies from an existing document or file.

- Highlight all the text and delete to leave an empty text box. Copy and paste your own policies from another document (Word doc, PDF file, Google doc, etc.).
After you're satisfied with the changes you've made to your handbook:
- Scroll to the top of the page.
- Click Save in the top right corner.
- A pop-up will appear allowing you to summarize the changes you've made to the handbook in an email to parents.

- For example - "I've updated the COVID policy and pick up policies"; "I've changed the late fee amount"

- Click Save and Send Email to finalize the changes made to the handbook and notify parents.

To see your completed handbook at any time:
- Open your Program Dashboard.
- Click on your profile photo in the top right corner and select "Account".
- Click on School Info.
- Click on Edit Handbook under Parent Handbook.
- You will see the current version of your handbook. To edit at any time, click the blue "Edit" button.
