Prepare Your Emergency Backpack

Prepare an emergency backpack in case of a house fire or other emergency that will cause the children to be evacuated. 

Fill the backpack with these items:

• Administration supplies including: 
• Designated evacuation area 
• Student roster with photos
• Emergency contact information
• Staff roster with photos 
• Pens, pencils
• Cell phone charger(s)
• Battery-operated flashlight or light sticks (extra batteries)
• Rope for children to hold
• Activities for children (coloring books)
• First Aid supplies including:
• Latex-free gloves
• First Aide instruction manual
• Band aides
• Gauze 
• Medical tape
• Blanket
• Face mask
• Paper towels
• Hand Sanitizer
• Scissors
• General supplies including:
  • Bottled water 
  • Granola bars or some other shelf-stable snack for the children
